Lors d'un entretien avec The Overlap réalisé par l'ancien latéral droit de Manchester United, Gary Neville, Alexander-Arnold a rendu hommage à son ancien coéquipier sénégalais. L'international anglais se dit reconnaissant d'avoir seulement croisé Sadio Mané à l'entraînement et non face à lui en match.
"Sadio Mané est le seul joueur avec qui j'ai joué dont j'ai toujours pensé que je suis reconnaissant de n'avoir jamais eu à jouer contre lui. Il était un attaquant parfait. Il avait tout. C'était un athlète. Probablement, je dirais qu'il était similaire à (Cristiano) Ronaldo. Il était rapide, puissant, pouvait marquer avec les deux pieds. C’était une menace constante pour tout le monde", a déclaré le joueur de Liverpool.
Sadio Mané a quitté Liverpool en 2022 pour rejoindre le Bayern Munich. Il ne restera en Allemagne que durant une année, avant de rejoindre le club saoudien d'Al-Nassr.
