Le président Macky Sall avait invité les membres de la coalition Yewwi Askan Wi à venir prendre part au défilé du 4 avril. Mais, dans un communiqué de presse, ladite coalition a décliné l’invitation. Certains de ses membres, comme Barthélémy Dias, ont pourtant assisté à la cérémonie qui s’est tenue au Boulevard de la nation.
Malgré la décision de sa coalition, qui a décliné l’invitation du président Macky Sall à venir assister au défilé de ce 4 avril, Barthélémy Dias a pris part à la cérémonie. Il a expliqué pourquoi il a pris une telle décision.
«C’est la preuve que nous sommes des républicains, nous croyons en la République et nous félicitons tous les Sénégalais», a déclaré le maire de Dakar au micro de la Rfm.
Bara Gaye, l’autre opposant qui a pris part à la cérémonie, en a profité pour lancer un appel au président de la République.
«L’opposition ne peut pas participer tout en sachant qu’il y a beaucoup de ses éléments qui sont aujourd’hui détenus illégalement dans les prisons. Le Président de la République doit saisir cette occasion pour libérer tous les otages politiques», indique-t-il.
