Triste dimanche. Au moment où les membres et acteurs de la presse portaient à sa dernière demeure leur confrère Mame Less Camara, la Gendarmerie nationale en faisait de même pour l’épouse du commandant Cheikh Faye. En effet, « Le Témoin quotidien » a appris sur place le décès de Mme Aminata Ndiaye dite Amy, épouse du commandant Cheikh Faye, ancien patron de la Compagnie de gendarmerie des transports aériens de l’Aéroport (Ggta).
D'aprés le journal, le décès étant survenu le samedi 29 avril, l’enterrement a donc eu lieu le dimanche 30 avril au cimetière de Yoff. Triste coïncidence, Mme Amy Ndiaye Faye a été inhumée presque dans le même carré que notre regretté confrère Mame Less Camara. Et pour montrer que le commandant Cheikh Faye est un officier valeureux, loyal, discipliné et serviable, ils étaient très nombreux les officiers, sous-officiers, gendarmes et militaires du rang, à faire le déplacement au cimetière.
Tout ce beau monde était venu partager avec le commandant Faye, sa peine et sa douleur. Le Haut commandant de la gendarmerie, le général de corps d’Armée Moussa Fall, a été bien représenté par son chef de cabinet, le colonel Cissé.
