En cette matinée du vendredi, lendemain de l'incident, le bilan fait état de 68 victimes dont 10 blessés graves acheminés à l’hôpital de Kaffrine dont 04 en cours de prise en charge au bloc opératoire, 44 blessés légers dont 27 pris en charge à l’hôpital de Kaffrine et 17 acheminés au centre de santé de Koungheul. 14 personnes ont perdu la vie dans cet accident. Les corps sont actuellement au centre de santé de Koungheul.
A la suite du drame, les ministres du Transport, El Hadj Malick Ndiaye et de l'Intérieur, Jean Baptiste Tine sont attendus sur les lieux.
