Au moins 14 personnes qui revenaient d'un mariage sont mortes mardi soir après la chute de leur car dans une rivière, au Gilgit-Baltistan, région montagneuse du nord du Pakistan, ont indiqué mercredi les secours à l'AFP.
"Le bus transportait 25 passagers. Seule la mariée a survécu. Jusqu'à présent, 14 corps ont été retrouvés et 10 personnes sont toujours portées disparues", a expliqué Wazir Asad Ali, l'un des responsables de l'opération de sauvetage. Un responsable de la police locale a confirmé l'accident, évoquant un excès de vitesse du chauffeur.
